Standard Kompetensi pemandu Wisata Panjat Tebing

SETELAH melakukan proses penyusunan dan penjaringan ide dari berbagai unsur dalam masyarakat yang mempunyai kepentingan dengan kegiatan panjat tebing wisata, pada akhir Januari lalu akhirnya pada kegiatan konvensi disepakati terbentuknya Standard Kompetensi Kerja Pemandu Wisata Panjat Tebing. Standard ini akan menjadi acuan bagi industri pariwisata dalam melakukan kegiatan kepemanduan, khususnya pemanduan wisata panjat tebing.

Dengan adanya standard maka seluruh pihak yang mempunyai kepentingan dengan kegiatan wisata panjat tebing dapat melakukan kegiatan dengan lebih terjamin baik dari sisi kualitas maupun tingkat keselamatan kegiatan kepemanduan wisata panjat tebing.

Proses penyusunan standard kompetensi sendiri dimulai sekitar tahun 2007 yaitu dipicu oleh peningkatan wisata panjat tebing di beberapa lokasi yang menjadi pusat kegiatan wisata panjat tebing seperti Tebing Maros (Sulawesi Selatan), Tebing Siung (DI Yogyakarta), Tebing Harau (Sumatera Barat), atau Gunung Parang (Jawa Barat). Diharapkan dengan telah terbentuknya standard kompetensi ini akan terus berdampak positif bagi pengembangan industri wisata panjat tebing di daerah lain yang mempunyai tebing-tebing batu yang tidak kalah cantiknya.

Secara resmi nantinya Menteri Tenaga Kerja dan Trasmigrasi akan menerbitkan Surat Keputusan pemberlakukan Standard Kompetensi tersebut menjadi acuan yang berlaku secara nasional, dengan telah berlaku secara nasional terbuka kemungkinan bahwa standard kompetensi tersebut akan juga dipakai sebagai standard kompetensi di tingkat Asia Tenggara mengingat Indonesia adalah negera yang berperan sangat besar dalam pengembangan wisata di wilayah ini.(sumber:http://www.fpti-climbing.org)
