Hal ini agar ada pemerataan penggunaan fasilitas sehingga pada Porprov nanti semua pengcab mempunyai kesempatan dan peluang yang sama untuk memenangkan sebuah pertandinga. I was fortunate enough to hike the Grand Canyon for the first time in 1993. Like many people I took my camcorder along and like a few unsuspecting souls I returned home hooked by the Canyon - and determined to make a video about it.

Hiking through the Grand Canyon is like exploring the rooms of an ancient castle in a dream. Even at a hiker's pace the rooms come so fast, and each is so magnificent that the experience begins to run together. Turn a corner, step through a doorway - it changes - you forget the last room and marvel at the new. Lost in the fascination of this experience you begin hurry from room to room and just as you begin to realize you're missing something - the rock walls of the castle turn to mist and vanish. Ahead you see that the security lights of civilization have driven away the mist of the castle - you have arrived at your destination and the dream has ended. For most of us - too soon.

It's my sincere hope that this video will provide hikers and non-hikers alike with a sense of the Grand Canyon below the rim. For hikers - this sense should enhance their visit. For non-hikers this sense should expand their appreciation of the Grand Canyon beyond the awe we all feel when we stand on the rim.

Wahyu "Turun Gunung" Purnomo Siap Turun di kelas Speed

Wahyu Purnomo yang beberapa waktu lalu turun gunung untuk mendukung tim sleman, mulai menunjukkan kelasnya. Walau dia masuk melalui promosi kelas boulder, namun di kelas speed ternyata mampu unggul atas teman-teman atlet satu tim di Sleman. Bahkan jauh unggul atas herman dan lemod yang semula di unggulkan di papan atas speed.

Untuk itu dia mulai berhitung, apakah akan turun di kelas boulder atau speed atau boulder dan speed nanti untuk porprov 2009. Berhitung artinya peluang medali yang mungkin dapat dia bawa pulang ke ngaglik sleman, rumah mas wahyu.

Melihat catatan rekor speednya, bukan hal yang sulit untuk para pemanjat speed dari kabupaten lain, bahkan wahyu optimis, turun dan speed ataupun boulder hasilnya akan sama, yaitu emas. Bukan begitu Mas Wahyu?

Seputar POMDA Pajat Tebing DIY

Atlet Panjat Tebing Sleman mendominasi perolehan Medali dalam Pekan Olahraga Mahasiswa Panjat Tebing di Mapala UPN Yang berlangsung 14 dan 15 Mei 2009. Di Kelas Lead Umum Putri Fitriyani ( UGM) dan Vita Eri O (UNY) berhasil memperoleh medali emas dan perak, sementara dikelas Speed Putri semuanya diraih atlet sleman yaitu Fitriyani (UGM), Vita Eri O (UNY) dan Priska "Mache" Mestikaning (UNY) mempersembahkan perunggu. 3 Nama tersebut merupakan atlet terbaik sleman yang akan memperkuat Tim Panjat Tebing Sleman 2009 Agustus Mendatang.

Sampai berita ini di turunkan, masih berlangsung final di bagian putra. Di Kelas Speed Putra, Bersaing keras antara Ismu (Kota)  dan Lemod ( Sleman), sementara Di kategoti lead putra, bersaing ketat antara faisal dan fani ( Sleman) serta Ismu (kota). Sleman Konsolidasi atau impor Atlet?

Sabtu 9 Mei 2009 bertempat di Wall Kebun Binatang Gembiraloka, Seluruh atlet, pelatih, manajer dan perwakilan pengurus berkumpul di sana membicarakan masalah masalah seputaran porprov dan juga aktifitas selama menjalani pemusatan latihan. Hanya 1 atlet yang ijin tidak hadir karena ada kepentingan di negara asalnya.

Kumpul-kumpul ini berkaitan dengan target medali. Beberapa waktu lalu ada wacana untuk membeli beberapa atlet asing untuk bermain di Sirkuit Panjat Tebing Sleman, sehingga pada saat proprov bisa pindah penduduk dan membela sleman. Wacana ini cukup menarik, karena klo ada atlet asing membela sleman artinya sudah menjadi warga negara indonesia dan bila berhasil juara akan membela indonesia di kancah internasional.

Namun benarkah demikian? ternyata tidak. Pengcab FPTI Sleman akan memaksimalkan potensi yang ada di Sleman dengan terus menggelar kompetisi dan juga pembinaan atlet usia dini. Bahkan kemaren sudah ada kesepakatan besar temen-temen atlet untuk mempertahankan harga diri membela sleman. Karena mereka-mereka asli sleman, dan ada yang tidak asli sleman namun merasa dibesarkan namanya melalui sirkuit panjat tebing sleman selama 2 tahun terakhir. Artinya yang tidak asli sleman pun merupakan penduduk sleman karena kebanyakan kuliah di PTN/PTS Wil Sleman sekurang-kurangnya 2 tahun terakhir.

Reza : Salah Satu Atlet Potensial Kabupaten Sleman

Bertempat di Papan Panjat Akakom Yogyakarta berlangsung Seleksi Panjat Tebing Kabupaten Bantul 2009 dalam rangka penjaringan atlet menuju PORDA DIY 2009. Untuk mendukung even ini, tim panjat tebing sleman di undang sebagai tamu khusus untuk menyemarakkan even yang pertama kali di Gelar setelah Pengurus Baru FPTI Bantul terbentuk.

Tim Panjat Tebing Sleman menurukan 10 Atlet Putra dan 6 Atlet Putri untuk bersaing dengan 20 Atlet Putra dan 6 Atlet Putri Kabupaten Bantul. Untuk Kategori Lead umum Putra, Atlet Sleman yang sudah beberapa bulan melakukan pemusatan latihan terlihat dominan dengan menempatkan atletnya Bayu dan Wahyu Purnomo diperingkat Pertama dan Kedua. Selanjutnya berturut-turut urutan 3 sd 9 juga masih disiminasi atlet Sleman. sedangkan di Bagian Putri, urutan 1 sd 3 juga milik Sleman.

Namun karena ajang ini merupakan seleksi untuk tingkat kabupaten bantul, maka peringkat atlet sleman tidak dipakai, dan atlet sleman tidak mengikuti babak final. Perlu dijelaskan bahwa keikutsertaan Sleman ini adalah DUKUNGAN NYATA FPTI SLEMAN TERHADAP FPTI BANTUL UNTUK bersama-sama memajukan olahraga panjat tebing di DIY Khususnya dan Indonesia pada Umumnya. Semoga suatu saat Sleman berkesempatan mengundang balik Tim Bantul dalam Even Panjat Tebing di Sleman.
